Grants

We are grateful to all our supporters and would like to acknowledge the following recent grants.

Wiltshire Community Foundation

Under the Community Grants Scheme, the Wiltshire Community Foundation has awarded The Open Door Centre £8000 across 2023 and 2024 to fund one of our fantastic activity co-ordinators.

Our team of four part-time activity co-ordinators plan and deliver a varied programme of activities, guided by the interests and needs of the members, in consultation with them. Socialising and joining in activities helps members become more confident, develops their self-esteem and improves their mental health and well-being.

Morrisons Foundation

The Morrisons Foundation has awarded The Open Door Centre over £4000 in 2024 to support our award-winning choir and the facilitation of Salto Dance classes provided by Swindon Dance. These weekly sessions with facilitators trained to deliver truly inclusive and empowering activities will allow members to improve their physical and mental health, participate in community activities and increase their confidence and self-esteem through public performances.

Hillier Funeral Service Community Fund

We have been given £1000 towards our well-being activities in 2024 to host mindfulness sessions with an external facilitator and explore other relaxation activities such as massage. Boosting well-being helps with mental and physical health, and providing adapted and inclusive activities within a familiar, safe and welcoming environment ensures more of our members can benefit from these opportunities.

Cost of Living Fund

A grant from the Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund, delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund, has funded our main core running costs for eight months, providing financial security during a difficult period and allowing us to continue to support our members. Over the winter months, we’ve been able to provide a safe, warm space, hot meals, and advice and help for members looking for support with housing and finances. We’ve also continued to deliver an enriching programme of activities to over 90 of our regular members.

Thanks to the Government for making this possible.
