The members are really happy to be back. They have said how much they’ve missed their friends, feelings of boredom, too much television, feeling depressed and stressed.
Things have been constantly changing and we have had to adapt and change accordingly.
While we were in lockdown, Open Door staff have been phoning members daily, including weekends for some, and also putting members in touch with each other, some via facetime.
Some members have had to isolate for fourteen days so we have been doing shopping for them. We have been offering a lending service from the Centre’s equipment; games, cards, books.
We have also been supplying members with work for their Personal Development Plans.
We have been providing lunch via a takeaway and delivery service.
Now we’re back, everyone is so happy!!
Activities are suggested by the members and so we have a varied programme … improving your reading, Wii Fit, money recognition, walking group, arts and crafts, Boccia, singing, table tennis, bingo, sewing, cinema trips, computer group, kickboxing, trips and holidays.
